2019 Pinot Noir
2019 was another fantastic vintage in California. In Sonoma County it started off with a copious amount of rain saturating the soil in late winter and spring, about 150% of normal. Early summer heat waves acclimated the vines to warmer weather, which allowed the grapes to withstand a later heat spell in August, moving the sugars higher and allowing flavors to ripen.
Since 1959, our passion has been to craft best in class wines in our sustainable winery to share with friends and family. Our family-owned winery is committed to quality wines and to protecting our resources for the future. We are solar powered, certified sustainable, practice Fish Friendly Farming and we were the first winery in Sonoma County to offset our carbon footprint. With an eye on the future, innovation in the cellar and the vineyards is at the heart of all that we do.
Situated in the Southern and Western end of Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast is a distinct region that is directly influenced by the Pacific Ocean and is known to produce Chardonnay of exceptional complexity with true varietal and terroir characteristics unique to the region. Our Sonoma Coast Blue Wing vineyard sits at the very closest point to the San Pablo Bay within the Petaluma Gap. The Petaluma Gap channels coastal fog and sea breezes to the vineyard every late afternoon, where cool nights and warm days of filtered sunlight bring out the very best in our Chardonnay. The longer, colder growing season results in harvests well into October at times, producing elegant complexity and character with our Blue Wing vineyard delivering true to the appellation distinct wines that are crisp, elegant and a beautiful representation of Sonoma Coast.
