Winemaking Notes

The 2021 vintage turned out to be a fantastic growing season, with no frost and very mild temperatures throughout most of the year. However, the unpredictable spring rains ended in March in what would become one of the driest seasons on record in Sonoma County. Predicting an early harvest due to the dry conditions, we were surprised to find flavors and high acidities in the berries dictating the need for patience. With all things in balance, harvest took place September 10 - 22.

Our 2021 Sonoma County GSM-ish opens with aromas of violet, strawberry and red cherry and finishes with notes of ripe blueberries, dried herbs and a soft, velvety texture. Enjoy this wine now with a grilled steak, rack of lamb or your favorite chocolate treat.

History

A traditional GSM uses Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre but this playful new blend uses Grenache, Syrah and Malbec - a fun twist on a classic. While drawing inspiration from French traditions, our GSM-ish is sourced from a few of our favorite vineyards within Sonoma County. Each component has been chosen purposefully, harmonizing together to create a wine that we truly hope you enjoy.
