2018 Reserve Malbec

Winemaking Notes
Our 2018 Reserve Malbec is rich with aromas of briary berry fruit, boysenberry and light floral undertones. On the palate, black cherry and currants give way to dried herbs and fine tannins for a lingering finish. Enjoy this wine with honey glazed pork chops, oven roasted winter vegetables or a petit filet with a spicy peppercorn sauce.
Production Notes
The 2018 growing season was dry throughout spring with well below normal precipitation. Cooler weather dominated this vintage with only two short, relatively mild heat spikes through the entire growing season. Summer days were very pleasant in Sonoma County with highs in the 70s and 80s and with August having even warmer temperatures. With everything in balance, we harvested September 27 through October 24.
For our 2018 Reserve Malbec, select areas within each vineyard are hand harvested, fermented separately and aged in the finest French oak. After aging, each lot is tasted and graded and only the best are considered. The blend is then assembled, and the wine is aged 24 months before bottling.
