Winemaking Notes
Our 2019 Alexander Valley Malbec is rich and deeply colored, with intense aromas and flavors of black plum, blackberry, black tea leaf, crushed violets and baking spices. This bold wine consists of soft tannins which lead to a nice finish with wonderful acidity. Pair this delicious rich wine with braised short ribs or a blue cheese and honey drizzled shortbread. Enjoy it over the next three to six years.
Production Notes
2019 was another fantastic vintage in California. In Sonoma County it started with a copious amount of rain saturating the soil in late winter and early spring. Early summer heat waves acclimated the vines to warmer weather, which allowed the grapes to withstand a later heat spell in August, moving the sugars higher and allowing flavors to ripen.
