Winemaking Notes
Our 2020 Alexander Valley Malbec is rich and deeply colored, with intense aromas and flavors of black plum, blackberry, black tea leaf, crushed violets and baking spices. This bold wine consists of soft tannins which lead to a nicefinish with wonderful acidity. Pair this delicious rich wine with braised shortribs or a blue cheese and honey drizzled shortbread. Enjoy it over the next three to six years.
Production Notes
2020 was notable for being another dry growing season, with only a few
showers throughout spring, milder weather through most of the year and
lower yields at harvest. The dry season and judicious irrigation resulted in
smaller leaves and canopy area, allowing the fruit to acclimate to greater light
exposure than is typical. With everything in balance, we harvested September
15-25.
