2021 Reserve Pinot Noir

Winemaking Notes
Red and darker fruits play in the nose as ripe cherry, plum and creamy oak aromas lead to sweet and spicy favors of rhubarb and damp forest floor. The puncheons used to ferment the wine show in the mouth, as supple acidity weaves together with velvety smooth tannins and satiating volume, as forest floor and black cherry flavors linger on a fresh and refined finish.
Vineyard Notes
For our 2021 Reserve Pinot Noir, select areas within each vineyard are hand harvested, fermented separately and aged in the finest French oak. Each lot is tasted and graded and only the best are considered. The blend is then assembled, and the wine is aged 14 months before bottling.
Production Notes
The 2021 vintage was mild and dry. Seasonable weather made for pleasant spring and summer days. Due to the ideal ripening conditions, we predicted an early harvest. But Mother Nature had other plans and as we checked berry sugars in the late summer the blocks seemed to need a little more time to ripen than predicted. As the vines developed full flavor, we harvested each block separately in the early morning hours from September 1st through the 11th.
