			Winemaking Notes
Aromas of fresh-baked pastry, lime pith, dusty oak, beeswax and Honeycrisp apple lead to similar flavors highlighting beeswax, toast and brioche. The mouthfeel is generous, creamy and lightly oily with fresh acidity throughout and lingering hazelnut on the long finish.
		Vineyard Notes
Our Reserve wines are the result of a careful blend of individual lots from meticulously farmed sections of some of the very best vineyards in Sonoma County. Created in our small lot Artisan Cellar, Winemaker Justin Seidenfeld employs techniques such as cluster pre-sorting and extended maceration. With small tanks and equipment sized for the most discriminating vineyard selection process, our cellar is state-of-the-art and represents the Klein family commitment to producing the finest wines possible
		Production Notes
Extra rain in the spring of 2023 saturated the ground, delaying bud break and harvest later in the fall. After a final inch of rain fell in early May, sunny dry weather became the norm. Véraison was about a month late, as pleasant summer days rarely hit 95°F. Just before the end of August a rare tropical storm hit California, disturbing the air pressure enough to cause drizzle. Another quarter of an inch of rain fell in
late Sept, as we waited patiently for the grapes to ripen. We finally picked our Reserve Chardonnay over 2 days on Oct 13 and 14, about a month later than normal, but under ideal fall conditions and with perfectly healthy grapes.
